Couples Workshop for Wisconsin Residents
The Relationship Skills Bootcamp
Some fights never end. You've had the same argument for months — maybe years. You try to explain yourself, but it comes out wrong. Your partner gets defensive. You shut down. Nothing changes.
If you're a couple in Wisconsin - Milwaukee, Madison, Green Bay, La Crosse, Eau Claire - you don't have to stay stuck.
Edina, Minnesota is just across the border. Depending on where you are in Wisconsin, it's 1-6 hours away. And the Relationship Skills Bootcamp is worth the drive.
I'm Sarah Borrell, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist certified in Relational Life Therapy. This two-day workshop teaches the specific skills that help couples communicate better, fight less, and rebuild intimacy. It's not theory. It's not inspirational fluff. It's practical tools you can use immediately.
A Relationship Reset Just Across the Border
The Bootcamp is an immersive, two-day experience. You step away from the daily grind — the bills, the kids, the endless to-do lists — and focus entirely on your relationship. The distance helps. Getting out of your usual environment makes it easier to see things clearly.
Wisconsin couples choose this workshop because it's close enough to be convenient but far enough to feel like a real break. You're not just attending a seminar. You're investing two days in your relationship.
And unlike weekly therapy, which can take months to show results, the Bootcamp delivers immediate clarity. You'll leave with tools, a shared language, and a sense of hope about what's possible.
What Makes This Couples Workshop Different
Most marriage workshops are either too preachy, too vague, or too focused on inspiration without practical tools. The Relationship Bootcamp is different.
It's based on Relational Life Therapy (RLT), the approach created by Terry Real. RLT is known for rapid results. It's direct, skills-focused, and it works.
This isn't group therapy. You won't be asked to talk about your relationship in front of others. Instead, you'll learn through teaching, discussion, and hands-on practice. You'll walk away knowing exactly what to do differently.
Some couples leave the Bootcamp and continue practicing on their own. Others choose ongoing couples therapy to go deeper. Either way, you'll have a foundation that makes everything easier.

Core Skills You'll Learn in Two Days
The Bootcamp focuses on the essential skills that keep relationships healthy:
The Five Losing Strategies — the automatic reactions that destroy intimacy (defensiveness, blame, shutting down) and how to spot them before they take over
The Five Winning Strategies — the communication tools that repair conflict and rebuild closeness
How to speak your needs clearly — the Feedback Wheel gives you a step-by-step process for saying hard things without triggering defensiveness
How to really listen — not just waiting for your turn to talk, but actually understanding what your partner needs
How to break old patterns — you'll learn where your reactions come from and how to respond differently
These aren't vague concepts. They're specific, actionable tools. By the end of day two, you'll know exactly how to use them.
Designed for Both Couples and Individuals
For Couples
This workshop is for you if you're tired of the same fights, if you're feeling more like roommates than partners, or if you're ready to rebuild the intimacy you once had. Whether you're newly dating or married 30 years, the skills apply.
For Individuals
You don't need to bring a partner. In fact, some of the most powerful breakthroughs happen when you attend alone. If you're single, dating, or in a relationship where your partner isn't ready — this workshop will help you understand your patterns, build healthier boundaries, and show up differently in all your relationships.

It depends on where you're coming from. Milwaukee to Edina is about 5 hours. Madison is about 4 hours. La Crosse and Eau Claire are both under 3 hours. Most couples find the drive easy — and the time in the car together can be part of the experience.
-
No. The Bootcamp is based on Relational Life Therapy, which incorporates spirituality but does not have a religious orientation. That said, participants come from many religions and no religions and the practices can be incorporated alongside your beliefs. All couples are welcome regardless of faith background, sexual orientation, or relationship configuration.
-
The Bootcamp can complement ongoing therapy. Many couples do the workshop first to build a foundation, then continue with their therapist to go deeper. Others do the workshop mid-therapy as a reset or accelerator. Either way works.
